Healthy Neighborhoods core strategies are to build social connections, improve the physical conditions and strengthen the real estate market Model block projects are a way to support this work at a low cost with a high impact. It provides an opportunity for neighborhoods to celebrate small wins, residents’ pride in the neighborhood is strengthened and many times these projects can steer homeowners to invest in their homes.
These Block projects aim to make an immediate physical improvement on a target block or tie closely to a target block strategy. Block projects are done with the goal of involving residents in planning, implementation, and on-going maintenance.
