Balance.

That’s the key to how the Greater Milwaukee Foundation protects your  investments, even in uncertain times. We also have the advantage of the valued expertise of our volunteer Investment Committee, as well as our investment adviser, New York-based Colonial Consulting. These resources help us maintain a highly diversified portfolio that produces very competitive returns while you reach your long-term philanthropic goals.

The graphs below illustrate the performance of $100,000 over a 15-year period for our investment pools. Despite the volatility of the market in recent years, the Foundation’s investments continue to perform well. In 2016, our investment pools returned 6.5 percent year to date as of September 30.

The table below provides the annualized percent of return for funds invested in either the GMF Investment Pool or one of our trustee banks. For comparison purposes, both the graphs and table illustrate the performance of $100,000 invested in the S&P 500 and the Morningstar Moderate Allocation Fund (the Morningstar fund resembles the diversified portfolios within the Foundation).
