Five earn Greater Milwaukee Foundation’s Professional Adviser of the Year distinction
In its centennial year, the Greater Milwaukee Foundation honored five local advisers with its annual Professional Adviser of the Year distinction. The award recognizes the important role of professional advisers in building relationships with the Foundation and helping their clients create charitable funds for the benefit of the community.
This year’s recipients are:
- Dan Conley, partner, Quarles & Brady LLP, Milwaukee
- George A. Dionisopoulos, partner and business lawyer, Foley & Lardner LLP, Milwaukee
- Lecia Johnson, shareholder with the Tax and Employee Benefits Group, Godfrey & Kahn, Milwaukee
- Jason Kohout, estate planning and tax attorney, Foley & Lardner LLP, Milwaukee
- Tim Smith, associate in the Tax and Employee Benefits Practice Group, Godfrey & Kahn, Milwaukee
The honorees were recognized May 12, 2015 at the Foundation’s annual Herbert J. Mueller Society luncheon for their key contributions to the stewardship of Sen. Herb Kohl’s historic $100 million gift to the Foundation in December 2014.
The Herbert J. Mueller Society acknowledges the efforts of professional advisers who are committed to their clients, philanthropy and the community. The society is named in memory of Herbert Mueller, a local estate planning attorney who, through his quiet efforts, helped shape the Foundation into the strong, stable and successful organization it is today. By the time of his death in 2001 at age 91, Mueller had worked with his clients to start more than a dozen Foundation funds with gifts totaling nearly $50 million.
