ThriveOn Collaboration
Historic, community-centered and place-based, the ThriveOn Collaboration fosters a joint vision for a Milwaukee that is equitable, healthy and thriving for all. Led by the Foundation, the Medical College of Wisconsin and developer Royal Capital, the collaboration is committed to eliminating health, economic and social disparities perpetuated by systemic racism and generational disinvestment.
Guided by community priorities and data, the collaboration is making catalytic investments in housing, early childhood education, health & wellness, economic opportunity and social cohesion, particularly in the Milwaukee neighborhoods of Halyard Park, Harambee and Brewers Hill.

ThriveOn King
The collaboration’s centerpiece is the restoration and redevelopment of a former department store in the heart of Bronzeville on North Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Drive. The new ThriveOn King development will feature a range of resources and community-serving tenants on the first floor, mixed income housing for seniors and families, offices for select MCW centers, institutes and programs, and the Foundation’s headquarters.

Following community voice
Community voice is at the center of everything the collaboration does. Through a process the Foundation has honed over decades of engaging directly with residents and stakeholders in Milwaukee neighborhoods, the collaboration brings community to the table for visioning and shared decision-making on priorities and investments.
Community engagement
Neighborhood investments
ThriveOn Collaboration is much more than a building. It’s a generational commitment to the surrounding neighborhoods through investments in early childhood education, small businesses and more.
